Who we are, what we offer.

Cabot Coach Builders, Inc. began in Florida in 1983 as Royale Limousines, founded by Milton H. Smith, the father of the current President and CEO, Cabot Smith. Two years later, the company relocated to Haverhill, Massachusetts, where they are located today.

Cabot Coach Builders has expanded from its original limousine business to operating several divisions specializing in different types of purpose-built vehicles, customized to meet individual customer needs: Royale Limousines, for elegant and imposing stretch limousines; RoyaleRV, which transforms Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans into very capable off-pavement and (limited) off-road recreational vehicles, customized for comfort and the particular needs of the owner; Cabot Specialty Vehicles, offering a range of light trucks and large SUVs modified to meet a wide variety of business needs from mobile broadcast communications to armored executive transport that provides both luxury and protection (up to Level B5 ballistic armoring), and RMVans, a vehicle group that customizes and upfits commercial vans (Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter) for the passenger, mobile medical, public safety and mobile professional workspace markets.

In addition to the above, Cabot Coach Builders were chosen by long-term partner Lincoln to create the very limited-issue Lincoln Coach Door Edition. For more details, we invite you to read the article in Motor Trend magazine »

From its first days to now, Cabot Coach Builders Inc., or one of its various divisions, has been distinguished by both honors and technical innovation, ranging from being the first builder to be recognized by Lincoln as a Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM), to being named Europe’s 2004 Builder of the Year, to being the first builder to develop and offer a purpose-built Hybrid Electric Livery Vehicle, as well as the first Cadillac XTS limousine to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
